QD & MD Klondike Derby
Greetings from the Old Prospector!
Is it really this time of the year already? I must have overslept! The sun sure rises late here in the great North Country.
It’s time to start planning Operation Polar Bear XIII in earnest. The Klondike Derby will be held February 22-24, 2013 at Pine Hill Scout Reservation. In order to jump start our planning process we are going to do things a little differently this year. Rather than have the usual meeting with Scoutmasters and Senior Patrol Leaders to poll everyone about events we are going to start right up with “Mayors” meetings. We are asking that each troop that plans to attend the Klondike Derby send a representative to the meetings (particularly the first meeting). Before that meeting, we would like you to poll your scouts with the following questions:
What events do you really like and want us to keep?
What events do you really dislike and want us do drop?
What suggestions do you have to improve existing events?
What suggestions do you have for new events?
What suggestions do you have to improve the overall Klondike Derby?
We plan to use this information to establish this year’s events.
The Mayor’s meetings will be held on the following dates at 7:30pm at the Rowan Scout Service Center.
