In this episode, Peter Self, member of the Youth Development Team and executive producer of Cubcast, tells us it’s not enough to recruit boys into Cub Scouting. Your Cub Scouts are getting older, so Peter shares with us some really good ideas on keeping boys in the program.

Joining us is Jennifer Mooney, the camping director for the Cascade Pacific Council in Portland, Oregon. Jennifer has been working at Cub Worlds since she was in high school. She definitely knows the importance of camping for our young members and how it impacts retention.

You’ve got a group of 8-year-olds coming to the house on Thursday; now what? Well, you probably already know that training is the secret to a successful den or pack meeting, but you probably think you have no time for training or the training will be boring. Fear not, Cub Scout leader! Mark Griffin, the team leader for volunteer development at the National Council in Irving, Texas, is here to dispel those myths and explain the importance of being trained.
